How to Get Rid of Bed Bugs in Your Kennewick, WA Home

In the last few years, bed bugs have become a severe problem in Kennewick, WA, and other parts of The Evergreen State. These household pests feed on you at night as you sleep. During the day, they hide in, around, and under your bed. Bedbugs are very stealthy. That's why, by the time you spot one, you probably already have a full-blown infestation.

Bed Bugs - Croach Pest ControlBed bugs are not known to transmit disease, but their bites may cause itching and loss of sleep. These little bloodsuckers reproduce quickly, know where to hide to avoid detection, and can go for months without feeding, which makes it extremely difficult to remove them from your home.

Not to worry, Croach® can help you get rid of bed bugs in your Kennewick home or business. Our technicians use various Integrated Pest Management approaches to eliminate bed bugs and keep them away for good.

Success of the Bed Bug Treatment Program!

Excellent work. I had been exposed to bedbugs several times in the last year as I tried to help an uncle who is disabled. I tried to be careful to avoid bringing any home with me. Each time on returning home I changed in the garage, put my clothes in the dryer right away, and showered. However, I discovered a couple of bedbugs in my home about 10 days ago. My wife was very upset as we knew I could potentially bring this problem home with me. Croach sent an inspector, Ryan, to my home the next day. I had specifically requested Ryan as he had previously done an external treatment around my home for a spider infestation. I felt he had done excellent work before. He confirmed my fears, showed me how to inspect for bedbugs, and scheduled treatment. As before, Ryan was very informative and showed real concern for my problem. He took time to answer all of our questions. Over the past week, relying on his instructions, I did find about a dozen more bugs. Ryan was back at my home today to do the treatment. His work was thorough and efficient. Again, he took time to explain the process and expected outcomes. Ryan explained there will be a follow up inspection in a couple of weeks. He was able to help my wife have some confidence in the expected success of the treatment program. Thank you to Croach, and especially, to Ryan.

Red, Itchy Spots on Your Skin

Bedbug bites are the first sign of a bedbug infestation. Bites typically result in red and itchy spots on your skin. These spots can be anywhere on your skin but tend to occur on areas exposed when sleeping, such as your hands, face, neck, shoulders, legs, and arms.

Small Dark Spots on Your Sheets

Bed bug fecal stains on your sheets or mattress are another common sign of an infestation. Composed primarily of digested blood, bedbug droppings appear as red or brown spots in and around your bed. It's easy to confuse these stains with dirt or ink.

Reddish Stains on Your Beddings

Red spots on your bed sheets or mattress could indicate the presence of bed bugs in your home. Tossing and turning in your sleep is bound to crush a few bed bugs as they feed on your blood. These reddish stains come from bed bugs that have been crushed.

Live Bed Bugs

If you are very observant, you may even spot live bed bugs on your bed or in cracks and crevices around your bed. Bed bugs are flat, reddish-brown insects about the size of an apple seed. You may also find bed bugs under floorboards, in the sofa, cushions, and furniture crevices.

Preventing Bed Bugs in Kennewick, WA

The most effective way to get rid of bedbugs is to prevent them from getting into your home in the first place. People often bring bedbugs into their homes through infested clothing, bedding, furniture, and luggage. These tiny bugs can also travel between apartments through cracks and crevices in walls and floors.

To keep bedbugs away from your home:

  • Refrain from bringing used furniture, mattresses, or upholstery into your home.
  • Inspect luggage and wash clothing immediately upon returning from a trip.
  • Declutter and clean thoroughly to reduce hiding places for bed bugs.
  • Seal cracks in floors and walls.
